Development of Dong Hanh

From the table below, we can see that the number of scholarships awarded by Dong Hanh increased markedly during the first period and has stabilized in recent years. Due to an increase in the cost of living in Vietnam in 2011, Dong Hanh decided to increase the amount of each scholarship from 1.5 million to 2.5 million VND for university-aged students, and 1 million to 1.5 million VND for high school students. However, these grants are still largely insufficient compared to the needs of students in Vietnam. Until May 2011, Dong Hanh received nearly 10,000 scholarship applications, yet only 1,769 scholarships have been awarded, comprising only 17.8% of total applications received.

Beginning with the first 17 scholarships to students at the Polytechnic University of Ho Chi Minh City, today Dong Hanh scholarships are awarded to university and high school students from 12 universities throughout Vietnam.
